The Buffalo Seminary Crew Team back on the water for the first time in 2018!

Profile: Craig Thrasher

Mr. Thrasher is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he rowed for four years, achieving a National Championship and reaching the Finals in the 1960 Olympic Trials. He was a member of the fledgling U.S. National Team in 1964 and again reached the Finals in the 1964 Olympic Trials. 

He coached West Side Rowing Club's Scholastic Women’s Crew in 1992-93 and teamed with Coach Tom Boyer to lead a 1993 Summer Women’s Crew to a National Championship. Thrasher started an Adult Women’s Masters Crew which won its first U.S. National and Canadian Championships in 1996, two World Championship Gold Medals in 1997, and placed second in the Royal English Henley Veteran’s Championship in 1998. 

In 2002 with Margaret Thrasher, his wife, they won the Veteran’s World Rowing Championship Gold Medal in Double Sculls. Mr. Thrasher continues to row at BSRA while assisting to develop the BSRA site and boathouse as Vice President of Buildings and Grounds on the Board of Directors.

Session 2: Aug 13th-18th │Monday-Friday│9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $150

Summer Learn-to-Row for ages 12-17

Session 1: July 9th -20th│Monday-Friday│9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Session 2: July 30th -Aug. 10th│Monday-Friday│9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost/Session: $250 

(If you sign up for both sessions: $450 total; register through LTR Combo 1&2 Event).
